Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Carriage Driver Surveying The Landscape by Richard Whitford was sold in the PIPEWELL HALL, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE AND BOSTOCK HOUSE, CHESHIRE auction at Christies in London in April 2004. The price achieved of GBP 2,629.00 (€ 2,361.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Whitford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Prize Bull, which sold at auction in March 2005 for GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,116.86).
