It achieved a price of GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,914.17), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 65%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Short - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Terra Nova leaving Cardiff, 15 June 1910 unframed, which sold at auction in June this year for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 6,703.65).

Die Arbeit Off Croisic, France von Richard Short wurde im Februar 2005 in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.914,17) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 65%. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Short mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Terra Nova leaving Cardiff, 15 June 1910 unframed beobachtet, die im Juni diesen Jahres für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 6.703,65) versteigert wurde.
