Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work Figures bathing in a canal with a town beyond by Richard Bankes Harraden. The price achieved of GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,504.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Bankes Harraden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bay Of Naples With The Castel Dell'Ovo, The Vesuvius Beyond in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,947.22).

Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures bathing in a canal with a town beyond von Richard Bankes Harraden zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.673,00 (€ 2.504,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Bankes Harraden erzielen.
