In the Avedon : Photographies provenant de la Fondation Richard Avedon auction, the work Vicomtesse Jacqueline de Ribes and Raymundo de Larrain, New York studio, May 1961 sold for EUR 23,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Avedon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London in November last year with an auction result of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28).
