A top price for Ricardo Villegas y Cordero - as previously expected
In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European & Orientalist Art, which included the work Inspecting the Snaphaunce Guns, Tunis by Ricardo Villegas y Cordero. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 125,532.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Inspecting the Snaphaunce Guns, Tunis is the most expensive artwork by Ricardo Villegas y Cordero that we have observed at auctions so far.
