Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spanish the Storyteller by Ricardo Villegas y Cordero was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,499.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ricardo Villegas y Cordero achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Inspecting the Snaphaunce Guns, Tunis in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 125,532.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Spanish the Storyteller von Ricardo Villegas y Cordero kam im Mai 2013 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.499,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ricardo Villegas y Cordero erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Inspecting the Snaphaunce Guns, Tunis im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 112.500,00 (€ 125.532,72).
