Auction result misses estimated price range

In February 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half Length, Wearing Red With An Orange Cloak, Standing In A Landscape by Reinier de La Haye for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,596.89). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Reinier de La Haye - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Young Woman Playing The Lute, which sold at auction in June 2014 for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,761.14).

Im Februar 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half Length, Wearing Red With An Orange Cloak, Standing In A Landscape von Reinier de La Haye für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.596,89) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Reinier de La Haye mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Woman Playing The Lute beobachtet, die im Juni 2014 für USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.761,14) versteigert wurde.
