Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Very naughty children by Rex Whistler was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,369.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rex Whistler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Lady Caroline Paget in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 78,293.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Very naughty children von Rex Whistler kam im Dezember 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.369,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rex Whistler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Caroline Paget im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 78.293,42).
