Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A docked barge by Reinier Sybrand Bakels. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 1,680.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Reinier Sybrand Bakels - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sailing barges in a harbour, which sold at auction in June 2002 for EUR 3,824.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A docked barge von Reinier Sybrand Bakels zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 1.680,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Reinier Sybrand Bakels mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sailing barges in a harbour beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für EUR 3.824,00 versteigert wurde.
