Despite a disappointment, a good price for Reginald Marsh
When the work Merry-Go-Round by Reginald Marsh was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 790,000.00 (€ 747,964.40). Despite this disappointing result, Merry-Go-Round is the most expensive artwork by Reginald Marsh that we have observed at auction so far.
