This artwork by Rex Whistler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2006. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work A Folio of Illustrations And Designs In Order To Promote Shell Petroleum (One Illustrated) sold for GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,207.67) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rex Whistler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Lady Caroline Paget in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 78,293.42).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Rex Whistler erzielte im November 2006 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wurde die Arbeit A Folio of Illustrations And Designs In Order To Promote Shell Petroleum (One Illustrated) für GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.207,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rex Whistler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Caroline Paget im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 78.293,42).
