In February 2003 Christies in London held the auction THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART, which included the work The Love Letter (or The Appointment) by Rebecca Solomon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,315.00 (€ 29,659.26), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rebecca Solomon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Young Teacher in March last year with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 358,529.23).

Im Februar 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE FORBES COLLECTION OF VICTORIAN PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Love Letter (or The Appointment) von Rebecca Solomon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 29.659,26) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rebecca Solomon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Young Teacher im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 358.529,23).
