Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Raymond Coxon could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Abstract changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 790.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raymond Coxon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipwrecked; with a pencil sketch for the work, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,125.89).
