This artwork by Raouf Rifai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in May last year. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art auction, the work Darwiche sold for GBP 14,025.00 (€ 16,499.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Raouf Rifai; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Harmony sold at auction in October 2011 with the realized price of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,406.25).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Raouf Rifai erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art wurde die Arbeit Darwiche für GBP 14.025,00 (€ 16.499,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Raouf Rifai; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Harmony im Oktober 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.406,25).
