This artwork by Ralph Hartley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2008. In the A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation auction, the work Snow Over Warkton; Mist; Backyard; Ketton Cement Works, Leicestershire sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,324.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ralph Hartley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kettering; Second Lodge Fields; Towards Thorpe; Warkton, Northamptonshire , which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,801.05).
