Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Egyptianuntitled by Ragheb Ayad was sold in the 20th Century Art / Middle East auction at Sothebys in London in October 2018. The price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,011.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 22,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ragheb Ayad - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work To The Animal Market, which sold at auction in October 2010 for USD 122,500.00 (€ 88,167.55).

Die Arbeit Egyptianuntitled von Ragheb Ayad wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.011,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 22.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ragheb Ayad mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit To The Animal Market beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für USD 122.500,00 (€ 88.167,55) versteigert wurde.
