Despite a disappointment, a good price for Rafik El Kamel
When the work Transfiguration No.6 by Rafik El Kamel was auctioned at Christies in Dubai in February 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 19,200.00 (€ 14,512.47). Despite this disappointing result, Transfiguration No.6 is the most expensive artwork by Rafik El Kamel that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Rafik El Kamel
Als die Arbeit Transfiguration No.6 von Rafik El Kamel im Februar 2007 bei Christies in Dubai versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 19.200,00 (€ 14.512,47) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Transfiguration No.6 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Rafik El Kamel, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
