In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Italian boarding The Carriage, Rome by Raffaello Sorbi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 31,250.00 (€ 42,436.00), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Raffaello Sorbi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Italian saltarello Cavallucio (A Game Of Leapfrog) in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 326,500.00 (€ 250,960.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italian boarding The Carriage, Rome von Raffaello Sorbi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 42.436,00) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raffaello Sorbi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Italian saltarello Cavallucio (A Game Of Leapfrog) im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 326.500,00 (€ 250.960,80).
