Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work The Lighthouse, El Morro Harbor, Cuba by Rafael Moreno for USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,964.04). This price was achieved in the auction Latin American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Rafael Moreno have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2007 by the work The Lighthouse, El Morro Harbor, Cuba at USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,914.49).
