This artwork by Rafa Macarrón achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September this year. In the 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work without title sold for CNY 945,000.00 (€ 122,321.43) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rafa Macarrón - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Matilda, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 4,032,000.00 (€ 487,498.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rafa Macarrón erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für CNY 945.000,00 (€ 122.321,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CNY 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rafa Macarrón mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Matilda beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 4.032.000,00 (€ 487.498,15) versteigert wurde.
