Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Couple II by Rachel Woodman was auctioned at Christies in London in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 756.00 (€ 889.36). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rachel Woodman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bevelled bowl, which sold at auction in May last year for GBP 2,142.00 (€ 2,519.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Couple II von Rachel Woodman im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 756,00 (€ 889,36) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Rachel Woodman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bevelled bowl beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für GBP 2.142,00 (€ 2.519,86) versteigert wurde.
