Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sheltered From Scone'S Summer Heat by R Mayo was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 100.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 334.60 (€ 194.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by R Mayo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Banksias, which sold at auction in November 2004 for AUD 776.75 (€ 452.44).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 100,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 334,60 (€ 194,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
