The work Magpies on Branch by Que Lan was worth HKD 183,750.00 (€ 20,813.53) to a buyer in December 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Bonhams in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Que Lan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Maggies And Pine Trees sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of HKD 352,500.00 (€ 38,290.64).
