A top price for Qu Leilei - as previously expected
The work Unknown by Qu Leilei was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 11,625.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Unknown is the most expensive artwork by Qu Leilei that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Unknown von Qu Leilei kam im April 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 11.625,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Unknown das teuerste Kunstwerk von Qu Leilei, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
