A top price for Qiu Ying - as previously expected
In June this year Christies in Paris held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Celestial Mountains and Pavilions by Qiu Ying. The price achieved of HKD 31,230,000.00 (€ 3,649,219.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 28,000,000.00 – 40,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Celestial Mountains and Pavilions is the most expensive artwork by Qiu Ying that we have observed at auctions so far.
