Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Zhong Kui by Pu Ru was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 100,800.00 (€ 12,079.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pu Ru achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album of Paintings and Calligraphy in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 21,725,000.00 (€ 2,380,265.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Zhong Kui von Pu Ru im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 100.800,00 (€ 12.079,42) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pu Ru erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album of Paintings and Calligraphy im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 21.725.000,00 (€ 2.380.265,84).
