Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work The spirit of Summer by Thomas Frederick Mason Sheard for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,881.22). This price was achieved in the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Frederick Mason Sheard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A night celebration of a Muslim Eid, which sold at auction in October 2020 for GBP 7,562.50 (€ 8,397.51).
