This artwork by Paolo Troubetzkoy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work Mrs. Leonard Thomas sold for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,327.14) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paolo Troubetzkoy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of the Minister of Finance Sergei Yulyevich Witte (1849-1915) with His Setter, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 110,500.00 (€ 132,971.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paolo Troubetzkoy erzielte im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Mrs. Leonard Thomas für USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.327,14) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Paolo Troubetzkoy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of the Minister of Finance Sergei Yulyevich Witte (1849-1915) with His Setter beobachtet, die im November 2013 für GBP 110.500,00 (€ 132.971,96) versteigert wurde.
