Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Woman With Flower) by Prokash Karmakar for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,447.81). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Prokash Karmakar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Women and Horse) in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,335.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Woman With Flower) von Prokash Karmakar für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.447,81) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Prokash Karmakar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Women and Horse) im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.335,72).
