Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg, which included the work Untitled (Bindu) by Prafulla Mohanti. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,371.63). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prafulla Mohanti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Set of Four), which sold at auction in March last year for USD 10,080.00 (€ 9,086.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Bindu) von Prafulla Mohanti zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.371,63) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Prafulla Mohanti mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Set of Four) beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 10.080,00 (€ 9.086,81) versteigert wurde.
