Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Year 10,000 Problem by Pow Martinez was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,381.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pow Martinez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work I.C. Water, which sold at auction in June 2020 for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,050.31).

Die Arbeit The Year 10,000 Problem von Pow Martinez wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.381,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Pow Martinez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit I.C. Water beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 10.050,31) versteigert wurde.
