Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The proposal by Pio Joris was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2000. Here, the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 11,162.50 (€ 11,966.66). Admittedly, works by Pio Joris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Veduta del Colosseo e del Palatino in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 76,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The proposal von Pio Joris kam im Mai 2000 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 11.162,50 (€ 11.966,66) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pio Joris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Veduta del Colosseo e del Palatino im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 76.400,00.
