Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (designs associated with the rockhole site of Tjulnga), 1998 by Pinta Pinta Tjapanangka was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November last year. The price achieved of AUD 3,690.00 (€ 2,401.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pinta Pinta Tjapanangka - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pinari, which sold at auction in July 2009 for AUD 9,600.00 (€ 5,435.16).
