In November last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction African Contemporary Art, which included the work Sans Titre (Gazelles) by Mulongoy Pili Pili. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 6,298.00 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mulongoy Pili Pili have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Simba (Le Lion En Swahili) in November 2021 with an auction result of EUR 45,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion African Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sans Titre (Gazelles) von Mulongoy Pili Pili zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 6.298,00 und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mulongoy Pili Pili auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Simba (Le Lion En Swahili) im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 45.500,00.
