In July 2000 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Portrait of a lady, bust length, slightly turned to the left, wearing a pearl necklace by Pietro Antonio Rotari. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,449.78), 29% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pietro Antonio Rotari achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young girl hiding behind a muff in January 2003 with an auction result of USD 152,500.00 (€ 142,005.77).

Im Juli 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, bust length, slightly turned to the left, wearing a pearl necklace von Pietro Antonio Rotari zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.449,78) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pietro Antonio Rotari erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A young girl hiding behind a muff im Januar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 152.500,00 (€ 142.005,77).
