Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Scene of witchcraft by Pietro Dandini was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,651.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pietro Dandini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Queen of Sheba presenting King Solomon with gifts in May last year with an auction result of USD 35,280.00 (€ 32,876.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Scene of witchcraft von Pietro Dandini im Februar 2024 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.651,81) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pietro Dandini erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Queen of Sheba presenting King Solomon with gifts im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.280,00 (€ 32.876,71).
