A top price for Pieter Pourbus - as previously expected
In April 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters Part I, which included the work The Last Supper by Pieter Pourbus. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 324,500.00 (€ 268,759.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Last Supper is the most expensive artwork by Pieter Pourbus that we have observed at auctions so far.
