It achieved a price of USD 132,000.00 (€ 103,342.99), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 65%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Pourbus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Last Supper, which sold at auction in April 2018 for USD 324,500.00 (€ 268,759.32).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady, three-quarter length, wearing a striped bodice and black coat, holding a pomander on a gold chain von Pieter Pourbus wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 132.000,00 (€ 103.342,99) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 65%. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Pourbus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Last Supper beobachtet, die im April 2018 für USD 324.500,00 (€ 268.759,32) versteigert wurde.
