Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work The Virgin And Child by Pieter Candid for USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,518.52). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Pieter Candid have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Euterpe in May this year with an auction result of EUR 127,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2014 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Virgin And Child von Pieter Candid für USD 25.000,00 (€ 18.518,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Candid auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Euterpe im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 127.000,00.
