This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 10,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pieter de With; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Figures outside an inn, farm buildings and the pole of a dovecote, outside Amsterdam sold at auction in January 2009 with the realized price of USD 47,500.00 (€ 37,097.78).
