This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Paintings - Day Sale at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter de Ring - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Oranges, Peaches, Grapes And Cherries In A Wan-Li Bowl On A Table Top, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 224,500.00 (€ 256,530.38).
