Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,949.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Cornelisz Van Soest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dutch attack on the English fleet in the Medway in June 1667 in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 108,250.00 (€ 155,394.48).
