Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction EXPLORATION AND TRAVEL: ASIA, which included the work Peking by Pierre Ribera. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,218.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pierre Ribera have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work À l'ami bourgeois, St Jean de Luz in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,066.40).
