Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Classical landscape with ancient ruins, figures in the foreground by Pierre Patel was sold in the Master Paintings Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. The price achieved of USD 16,380.00 (€ 13,498.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Patel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Landscape At Evening With Travellers And A Hunter Near Classical Ruins in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 937,250.00 (€ 1,190,786.68).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.380,00 (€ 13.498,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre Patel erzielen.
