This artwork by Pierre Outin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2012. In the 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Art auction, the work Le jeune marchand de fleurs sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 34,051.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pierre Outin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A quiet moment sold at auction in June 2004 with the realized price of GBP 23,900.00 (€ 35,570.36).
