Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Standing Man In A Plumed Hat: Study For The Robes Of A Parisian Magistrate by Pierre-Narcisse Guérin for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,970.54). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre-Narcisse Guérin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Un Cuirassier Agenouillé, Un Genou À Terre, which sold at auction in November 2006 for EUR 6,960.00.
