Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Drawings, which included the work A judge of the Criminal Court holding a document by Pierre-Narcisse Guérin. The price achieved of USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,961.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre-Narcisse Guérin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Un Cuirassier Agenouillé, Un Genou À Terre, which sold at auction in November 2006 for EUR 6,960.00.
