Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vénus Et Mercure by Pierre-Jacques Cazes was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 21,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre-Jacques Cazes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Birth of Venus, which sold at auction in October 2012 for USD 98,500.00 (€ 76,014.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Vénus Et Mercure von Pierre-Jacques Cazes kam im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 21.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Pierre-Jacques Cazes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Birth of Venus beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für USD 98.500,00 (€ 76.014,82) versteigert wurde.
