Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings, which included the work Landscape With Figures Resting On A Path And The Sea In The Distance by Pierre Emmanuel Damoye. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,812.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pierre Emmanuel Damoye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Prairies Inondées, Pas de Calais in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,764.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape With Figures Resting On A Path And The Sea In The Distance von Pierre Emmanuel Damoye zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.812,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Emmanuel Damoye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Prairies Inondées, Pas de Calais im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 23.764,26).
