Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Cottage On A River Bank by Pierre Emmanuel Damoye was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,369.92). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Emmanuel Damoye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prairies Inondées, Pas de Calais in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,764.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Cottage On A River Bank von Pierre Emmanuel Damoye im September 2015 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.369,92) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre Emmanuel Damoye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prairies Inondées, Pas de Calais im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 23.764,26).
